2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOkay, here's a conspiracy theory for you...
CNN, the Networks, Facebook all set up meaningless online polls to get the Sanders supporters worked up about how their candidate "won" the debate, knowing that the the rug would get pulled out from under them when accurate scientific polling came out.
Any less rational than some of the other conspiracies proposed here?

(30,481 posts)With profits as the goal. I think most people could have told you that if Hillary did very well the pundits would say she won. Just as most of us could assume an immediate poll hosted by Facebook would come out with Sanders as the winner.
If these assumptions can be made, which I think a strong argument can be, then CNN and Facebook execs knew it as well. They played both sides of the fence and it worked. Go look at their valuations. People keep touting unscientific polls conducted by a corporation that makes CNN look like its playing with pocket change.
