(25,699 posts)To ride the highways of Valhalla, it must be SHINY AND CHROME!
MineralMan
(146,287 posts)I don't think that's official from the campaign, probably.

(2 posts)These are the vehicles (Electric) which needs to flood the roads and reduce the power of the oil lobbyists in Washington.
MineralMan
(146,287 posts)I have to make do with a cheap car with good mileage. No electric vehicles that fit my budget.

(146,287 posts)That's not to say that there might not be an electric car in the same price range as the lowest priced new cars on the market, but I'm not seeing it coming soon. So far, the cheapest practical one I've found costs twice as much as my KIA Soul and has a very limited range. I'll keep watching.

(146,287 posts)Way, way out of my price range. My lowly Kia Soul was just $14,000. I just made the 37th payment yesterday.

(146,287 posts)I hadn't noticed. Now, if I had posted the shirtless photo of O'Malley, that might be sexist, but I didn't.

(146,287 posts)about as likely for me as a date with Katy Perry. That's OK, though.

(5,761 posts)because ina few years time, before you know it you can. All that money being spent on gas, yup....right into the Tesla slush fund.

(146,287 posts)I decide not to drive. My wife and I put only about 5000 miles a year on them together. One now has 21,000 miles on it and the other just 40,000 miles. They ought to be good for some time to come. The Soul gets 35 mpg on the highway, consistently, so that one goes on any trips we take. The other care, a 2007 PT Cruiser, with 40K on the odometer is our winter beater and has the only trailer hitch of the two, so it tows the utility trailer when needed.
We don't drive a lot, and most of it is just local.
I doubt I'll ever own an electric car, unless it's one of those golf cart things after I finally retire, if ever.

I should have said supporter car.
MineralMan
(146,287 posts)who owns an older Bentley. I live in a working class neighborhood. I think he's an idiot for buying such a car. When it has a problem, parts are hard to find and expensive. Used luxury cars are a very bad bargain.
