Based on the outright comments and innuendo, many seem to be suggesting that the only way for things to get "better" (in their view) is to allow, or force, the country to have a Republican in the White House. They seem to think that this is the only way to guarantee this "revolution" we keep hearing about. It appears that they are of the opinion that the only way to "rebuild" and "restore" the party is to completely destroy it.

Is that what they mean with the "feelthebern" hashtag? I think the reality is that they want to "bernthehousedown" with little regard for the consequences.

Talk about SKEWED LOGIC!

… even if she's the nominee? Are these Bernie supporters lying? Or are they just being dramatic and provocative?

Double check my original message to see that there was no suggestion that a Bernie follower would literally vote for a Republican. Instead, it concludes that, by their own words, Bernie followers would prefer a Republican over Hillary based on their repeated pledges to not vote. Skewed logic, indeed!

I will vote for Hillary if I have to. I won't like it but like most politically active progressives I have learned to be pragmatic.

Given what you have said elsewhere you seem to prefer a scorched earth technique: Hillary or whatever republican lunatic rolls out of the clown car. Sometimes I think you do more damage to your candidate than a hundred of her detractors here.

support Clinton. Right here, post after post, Sanders supporters declaring there was no way they would vote for Hillary.

So why the hell should I support Sanders should by some miracle he be nominated when Sanders supporters won't reciprocate?

Why is it okay for Sanders supporters to make such declarations and not okay for Hillary supporters to reciprocate when pushed over the edge?

there might be more of a threat of that if we were facing an unchallenged incumbent, but even then, the likely costs associated with following a dem version of Raygun's 11th Commandment would offset whatever gains silence might offer.

But if Bernie is not the nomine, I'll vote for whomever is. Any democrat would be better than a republican president with a republican congress. We were told there was no difference between Bush and Gore in 2000 and found out that wasn't the truth.

Enjoy another dipshit like George AWOL Bush and a corrupt fascist regime for another eight years. You must be too comfortable to have it affect you. It really hurts a lot of people when utopians refuse to vote for a liberal candidate with a chance to win. But you will feel so pure and fluffy, it it won't matter if people get hurt, right?

If candidates want the votes of the Left they should seek them out rather than present themselves as not as bad as Republicans. If they fail to do so, they lose the votes of the left.

I'm not a "utopian". I'm a practical, pragmatic, voter in a corrupt system that refuses to perpetuate it by basing my vote on threats, polls, or endorsements and offerings of more of the same.

The whole party unity meme rings hollow now with all but the party loyalists. DWS has DEEPLY soiled the Democratic Party name, particularly with millennials, who are just now getting into politics and this whole DNC-frontloaded-for-Hillary crap has forever soured them on the Democratic Party. You guys will be feeling the loss for, at the very least, a generation.

and they've no one to blame but themselves. They will, of course, blame the DFH's (Dirty Fucking Hippies) which will only hasten their demise because they refuse to hold up a mirror.

Both sides are ignoring their constituencies. Anyone willing to crack open a history book can predict the outcome here. If denied liberty long enough the people will try to overcome the oligarchy legally. When that is blocked (by BOTH parties), then its storm the Bastille time. This story doesn't end well for the .01%.
