Seems to be bad news for the Sanders campaign under the current meme being trotted out. nt. NCTraveler Oct 2015 #7

...in Texas delegates are assigned based on % of the vote and also based on districts won.

If I interpret their rules correctly, there are 252 delegates - 145 on the state-wide election and 107 spread out over the Senatorial districts in the state.

At this rate, Clinton would win about 85 delegates and Sanders about 9 and O'Malley about 5. BUT, neither Sanders nor O'Malley would get any of the 107 up for grabs in the districts because neither would get the required 15% of the vote. I think Clinton would get all of those 107 votes since she would be the only "qualifying" candidate.

Many other states have similar allocations of delegates, there are no longer any "winner take all" primaries for Democrats (republicans still have a few)

Hillary Clinton will win in Texas going away. That's a given. When you take a look at the Super Tuesday states, like Texas, it's difficult to see how Sanders will get much traction in those states. And delegate counts are high in some of those states, too, with Texas leading the way.

I am assuming this poll didn't question republicans. This seems to be a state Sanders would walk away with under the current narrative being pushed.

The only way he gets Repuclicans is if there is a concerted effort to throw the Denocraric primary. If that happened, and Sander's won, he would be reviled in the party. But the GOP have their own nomination to sort out as well.

Working the Hispanic and Latino communities for voter registration will be a huge move towards eventually turning Texas blue, and this could be a key year for the Democrats to start this movement.
