"SNIP.............
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has joined the ranks of politicians and environmentalists calling for a federal investigation of ExxonMobil.
At a town hall event in New Hampshire on Thursday, local community organizer Jordan Cichon asked Clinton whether she would call on the Department of Justice to investigate the fossil fuel giant of engaging in a cover-up to mislead the public about the risks of human-caused climate change.
Yes, yes, they should, Clinton responded. Theres a lot of evidence that they misled.
.........
The evidence Clinton referred to are two recent investigations by Inside Climate News and the Los Angeles Times. Those investigations found that ExxonMobil knew as far back as 1977 that its product was contributing to climate change, yet instead of acknowledging this, it gave millions of dollars to politicians and groups that deny climate science, and downplayed the scientific certainty.

Wow! Hillary can't tolerate ANY issue-differnces to last more than 10 days now.
Rather remarkable really.

(11,641 posts)I hope she continues to speak out against gross neglect by corporations including the Wall Street banks who now carry felony records for rigging money markets.

None Yesterday.
None planned for tomorrow....or next week.
I guess Hillary means that IF there IS one, and she happens to be president, she will endorse it unless she evolves.
She NEVER said that if she is President, she will make sure there is one.

(19,326 posts)but she didn't want to admit it was Bernie who called Exxon out, and is holding their
feet to the fire for their criminal behavior.

(3,190 posts)Get under Bernie's skin and pull him off-sides. I don't think he'll take the bait, but he should make a point of all this sudden apparent progressive enlightenment by his opponent.

(19,326 posts)Colbert gently pushed on her a bit, about her parroting Bernie's positions, and her own
3rd Way think tank is starting to freak-out about her leaning so far Left, they worry about
how that could majorly back-fire in the GE.
I'm starting to feel good about how Bernie's keeping so much of his powder dry on this, and also
how he has so-far not even begun pointing out how her "get tough on Wall St." rhetoric stands
in stark contrast to her taking SO much Wall $treet donations, from the very people she's saying
"CUT IT OUT!" to on the campaign trail.

(3,190 posts)I likewise think that Bernie keeping his powder dry is a good strategy...he just needs to keep speaking to truth and being his authentic self. The hypocrisy that is the Hillary campaign will reveal itself.

(6,323 posts)really. Even after someone else does it first, all we hear is "Hillary's Endorsement"
That's some fucked up shit.
Are we taking the work of others and calling it Hillary's accomplishments.
I see no word of Bernie.
So Yeah. GO Bernie!

(18 posts)Copied him. And of course no mention Bernie arrived here 10 days ago.
I'm in a small restraunt now who all staff is raving about Bernie right now, but many of them feel it's a losing battle. We can't let the corporate owned media to allow this to happen: it only deters new people from joining our cause! (And by extension, the Democratic Party. Don't worry though democrats, if Bernie isn't the nominee I'll go back to being independent. So far the third way represents nothing I stand for... Because the Democratic Party has moved away from its base.

(12,228 posts)I would like this type of commitment to include assurances the Department of Justice be be such and directed as such to make this a clear priority(along with election criminality, Wall Street criminality/treason, etc.)and maybe not video game violence and marijuana. And maybe do what most presidents before Obama did in replacing a lot of the other party's DOJ and judicial holdovers.
