It was a false lead all along. Of course such a well-recognized candidate's name will appear on the NH ballot. New Hampshire's economy needs active primary campaigns. Aside from Linux consultants and too-good-to-work-for-a-living libertarians, New Hampshire loves primary elections in presidential election years. The media alone contributes largely to its economy.

All those journalists have to write something, you know.

He cant do much about them even as president until he gets a house and senate to work with, but as Democrats we can admit we miss the days when our politicians were strikingly different from the other guys on ALL issues, not just social ones.

And even if Bernie doesnt make it as president, he and us can pressure the hell out of Hillary if she wants to get reelected as to those assholes on wall street.

if one simply looked at his voting record
A single letter next to ones name means little in modern politics these days. It Used to mean a lot, but corporatism has blurred the lines so much that these days the party's are oft times indistinguishable. The one true way to understand who any candidate and politician works for is to review their voting records. Period.
What they say has little to do with how they vote - in Far too many circumstances.

Being a Democrat is about being part of a larger organization. It's about campaigning for fellow Democrats, raising money for them, getting their people to the polls, and on and on and on. It's about working together and coordinating, either to bring about a specific result or to stop the lunatics on the other side.

Bernie is awesome on the issues, but he's spent his entire career refusing to join, and sometimes outwardly mocking, the party. The only thing that's changed now, is that being a Democrat benefits him.

Those posters have spent weeks spouting their disagreement with the Democratic Party of New Hampshire which has been asserting that Bernie is a Democrat. They took issue with the Party, State and National, calling Bernie a Democratic candidate. 'When did a non Democrat win the nomination' well never because getting the nomination alone would make you a Democrat, there is not a three week training workshop or a ritual blood sacrifices.

So I know they have to have something to grind on but perhaps now they can stop being in open war on the will of the NH Democratic Party. I found all of that to be unsavory and very selfish for those not in NH.

Thu Nov 5, 2015, 05:23 PM

He has repeatedly declined to be a nominee on the Democratic ticket for either Representative or Senator in Vermont. So now he is a Democrat (because you HAVE to be a Democrat to be included on the NH ballot for the Democratic primary). Or did he say "for now"?

I truly wonder if he will retain the Democratic label if he does not win the nomination. Next time he runs for reelection in Vermont, will he run as a Democrat? Actually, can we change him from I to D in the Senate right now?? Or was this just ... as is so often charged here of other candidates ... just "pandering"?

I don't really care, but the statement that Sanders was not a Democrat were absolutely true until today.
