Presidential Hopefuls Exclude Gen Y in White House Race

Between the Democrats hosting their debate at a swanky Las Vegas hotel and casino and the Republicans only allotting 50 some tickets to actual students, Gen Y is all but excluded from the political conversations that actually matter. Again.

"It really feels like they don't feel like our vote or input is important at all," says University of Colorado student William Raley in an interview with USA Today. "It's almost that they're like 'This is a private event, it doesn't concern you.'"

probably has to do with the fact young voters likely do not have a lot of money to donate Bread and Circus Nov 2015 #2

But it's all about money now, is it? I'll make a note of that, and do everything I can to break the status quo beyond repair.

Dollars are not your ticket to free speech, and bank accounts don't determine voting rights.

when the 2020 election effort is underway, and people wonder why those new college kid alumni do not donate, they will cry and wail. Look, I know the Boomers are rich and important, but you cannot starve and beat your young and wonder why they do not support you when your are older.

first you marginalise them, then you discourage them, then you make policies against their interests, then you blame them for not voting enough. Sick.

why was the location of the Democratic debate a cause to exclude gen y? I really don't see it. You can enter casinos at age 18 even in NC so I would have to assume that is true of Vegas as well. They don't charge entrance fees either. So really, just how did that setting exclude gen y?
