Concord NH Monitor: Clinton is the candidate who can do the job best

And I certainly AGREE

My Turn: Clinton is the candidate who can do the job best

(Published in print: Saturday, November 28, 2015)

....................
................. So the question becomes, which Democrat would do it best?

In politics, “best” isn’t necessarily “perfect” – nobody should expect perfection in a presidential candidate. But what we can and should expect is a proven record of confronting difficult issues, in a way that reflects the reality of our two-party political system. When our system works well, it operates on the principle of cooperation and compromise. Reasonable people can disagree on issues, yet succeed in reaching solutions through respectful engagement and discussion.

Hillary Clinton has proven she has that capability: a progressive candidate who has a history of accomplishments in every role she has assumed, whether as first lady, senator or secretary of state. In supporting her candidacy, we support a candidate who is determined to bridge the gap between parties and work for all Americans, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

While everybody may not agree with her on every issue, it is undeniable that she has demonstrated a mastery of a broad range of issues that currently confront our country. Her performance during the Democratic candidates’ debates, and during her 11 hours as a witness in the feckless Benghazi hearing make that clear. She will need no on-the-job training to understand what needs to be done in addressing problems presented by Russia, China and ISIS.

Hillary Clinton understands that we currently have a broken political system, where the wealthy and well-connected exert outsized influence on public policy. To restore the public’s trust in our democratic process, she has called for aggressive campaign finance reform to restore the voice of the common person in our political system. She has promised to do everything possible to overturn the Citizens United court decision, .............
:..............

Hillary Clinton’s election will help move our country forward both domestically and internationally. She is the one who can do the job best.

Greasing the skids for further privatization of our public goods and services and further deregulation of business and industry?
As for campaign reform... she's not going to bite the hand that feeds her.

in a newspaper or magazine indicates a piece written by a member of the community or readership. There has been no attempt to deceive.

Give the perpetual outrage a rest.

I simply clarified it for those that might not notice. No need to make a federal case out of it unless you think that will keep them too busy to investigate Hillary.

wrote an article. They didn't. The OP has acknowledged the 'mistake' and thanked me for the clarification though she, not unexpectedly, didn't change the title as she should.

12. Sure ya can, along with editorials from the same paper praising Republicans on prison reform.

The president is playing point guard on prison reform, but the effort began not with the federal government but with conservative governors and states like Texas and Georgia. It began not with liberals but conservatives such as the billionaire Koch brothers, people aghast at the vast sums wasted by warehousing human beings and the unfairness of a system that treats rich and poor defendants unequally.

Are you joking? After all the crap the Bernie bots have been posting here for the last few months? The name calling? The alert stalking? The bullying?

I see someone with a low post count. They don't follow past practice or any type of etiquette, the sorts of courtesies I have seen extended to my fellow Democrats on DU since I have been coming here in 2002.

I am at the point where I don't care what any of you children think. Most of you are probably not Democrats in the first place. You will evaporate into the cyberether as soon as the primaries are over. And good riddance.

If I am rude, then put me on ignore.

35. here is the contradiction

In supporting her candidacy, we support a candidate who is determined to bridge the gap between parties and work for all Americans, not just the wealthy and well-connected.

again

to bridge the gap between parties and work for all Americans

Mr. Gross, what you are talking about are two things that cannot and will not work together. We have a party that does not give a shit about anyone but the wealthy and well connected, and who has NO interest in compromise, even within their own ranks! Any president that is willing to work for all Americans will need to put any olive branches aside and outright FIGHT the GOP, even if it means four years of acrimony, because at least that will be four years closer to the point where the GOP finally realizes it has to yield, as opposed to Hillary giving them what they want and feeding us the leftovers!
