moms discriminated against at dnc?

Moms Discriminated Against at the DNC?
Laura Flanders on September 5, 2012 - 11:34 AM ET

While Democrats are effusing over the Mom-in-Chief, it’s worth noting that a California branch of the National Organization for Women (NOW) is currently petitioning Party Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to stop discrimination against moms with young kids and infants.

“Moms with young children and nursing babies need your help!” They say.

According to the petition, “the Democratic Party is refusing to allow moms who are elected delegates onto the floor of the Convention if they must bring breastfeeding babies or small children in tow. There are no accommodations for on-site childcare, leaving women with very few options.”

I’m not in Charlotte, but those who are could confirm. The petitioners continue:

too many people get worked up seeing a woman breast feed. Jeez Louis (not aimed at you) it is just a breast. I will admit I am a breast man, but I don't go around gawking at women feeding their child.

Besides, who would bring a tiny infant into a hall like that with thousands of people, and loud noises?

The DNC does NOT have to offer childcare. If you want to attend a conference of any kind, you must find your own child care. that's pretty standard stuff.

Are people just looking for reasons to complain? Plenty of young children, and infants in there.. tho I don't really think it is a great idea.

supposedly loves its children, that child care would be available everywhere--work, church, malls, etc. .
