Brand New Iowa Poll - Sanders beats Cruz, but Cruz beats Clinton; Sanders beats Carson, but Clinton

is tied with Carson; Sanders does 5% better than Clinton head-to-head against Rubio, and also does better head-to-head against Fiorina and Trump.

I think he has a better chance in the general than Hillary.

the one who would attract cross-over voters.

57. You sound scared...

...and you should be. Hillary is a loser. Every day is it gets clearer that if we Dems nominate her, Cruz, Rubio, Trump or one of the other sociopaths running on the GOP side WILL get the WH.

It means a lot that she has less than -0- cross over appeal and that with all of her alleged support she comes in second to a maniac like Ted Crud.

Congrats on backing a loser. If she is nominated and the GOP takes the WH, what are you going to say then? That only lunatics voted for Cruz? Or many it was insanity to back someone like HRC who is very disliked.

JMHO

so far. Soon after the GOP media guns turned on him, Sanders' drop in the polls would be meteoric. They have LOTS of ammo (starting with "big government, tax and spend socialist" complete with sound bites.

38. No, those match ups are relevant to the choice between Clinton vs. Sanders. I chose Obama over

Hillary and the rest of the field in November of 2007 precisely because I thought he'd have a better chance in the general than Hillary or the other candidates. That should be a huge factor in a primary choice. For a Democratic voter, there's little point in your candidate winning the primary, only to lose the general.

29. Funny a couple of months ago the general election was the only thing that mattered,

several Hillary supporters told me so.

You must remember, back when it was assumed she would beat any of the Republicans.

Remember back before they actually asked people who they would prefer in the general election and found out it wasn't Hillary.

Back when it used to be important to select the candidate that would do the best in the general election. Funny now it's not so important to Hillary supporters anymore.

27. That is just unrealistic

I think it is simply unrealistic to expect the party insiders to show equal preference to someone who has been a Democrat for all of 5 minutes, especially since he is running against someone who is a very central figure in the Democratic Party. I have no doubt that they will support him if he wins the primaries, and they don't seem to be undermining him in any significant way, but they cannot possibly feel the same loyalty to him than they do to Hillary. After all, he does not have a history of membership of, and loyalty to, the Democratic Party.

all the candidates. Just watch his Senate speeches in 2013 and 2015 on the Senate Floor. IN 2015 he rejects everything he said in 2013 even though he submitted bills for immigration. This was one of his focus subjects in 2013.

Isn't this the same outfit that had Hillary beating Bernie?

I wonder whether the Hillary supporters have looked into this one as closely? Or do they automatically dismiss it?

I will reiterate that whatever the results of any of these polls I still contend that they completely over-sample land lines over cell phones. Therefore, even if this poll seems to suggest that Democrats maybe should consider supporting Bernie as the more pragmatic choice, I will still question it's accuracy.
