At this particular moment in time

"The essential ingredient of politics is timing." Pierre Elliott Trudeau

I think it is important to say that the timing of this DNC database breach scandal is truly suspect. It was known for three months the database was vulnerable. The problem was allowed to percolate until yesterday. It blew up into a firestorm today, on a Friday in Washington, DC -- the night before the next Democratic debate, the week before Christmas, and just a matter of maybe five or six weeks until Iowa and NH caucus.

Knowing how close both those races are and knowing that the political destiny of Bernie Sanders rests on his wins or losses in those two states, it is just too convenient for his opponents for his campaign to be database castrated at this particular moment in time.

Just my opinion....

Sam

1. The facts don't match your spin:

***After Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign was disciplined by the Democratic National Committee for improperly accessing the Hillary Clinton campaign’s proprietary voter database, documents obtained and reviewed by NBC News appeared to show that at least four individuals affiliated with the Sanders campaign conducted searches and saved the Clinton campaign’s lists of potential voters over a period of more than 40 minutes.

NBC News has verified the authenticity of the documents, which appear to shed new light on the depth of the data breach, with a secondary source.***

5. The Sanders campaign went data fishing. But you're in denial so I will leave you be.

6. People in his campaign have admitted looking at the documents

And in one of the other threads I read this evening, a DU'er posted they deliberately left a trail to show the vulnerabilities.

The literal truth of the matter is neither you nor I know what happened. We hear what is being reported by the MSM, much of which opposes Sanders since he is against the TPP and many media giants participated in the drafting of portions of it.

The lawsuit has been filed, read it if you like, and wait for the facts to come out. One of the facts contained in the complaint is that the Sanders' campaign has information and belief that its data was breached as well. If this is not settled, it will all come out in the trial.

But in the meantime, one of the points in the agreement was that the DNC had to give the Sanders' campaign ten days notice if it intended to cut off access to the database. Obviously this did not happen. I believe the campaign will get its data back very soon.

10. I often find myself in trouble here some times because I do have that inside-the-beltway mentality

So thanks for agreeing with me!

People who do not live in the Washington, D.C. metro area don't often see these things as often as people who live here. It is our local news. But I have been a political junkie a long time, and I really don't think there are too many coincidences in politics...if any.

4. How do we even know if they informed them in October?

They certainly didn't inform them this time.

11. Interesting

Interesting that the CEO of the vendor worked in the Clinton White House.
Interesting that the vendor has previously been accused of dropping the fire wall.
Interesting that the sanctions are occurring a day after Sanders gets major Dem endorsements.
Interesting that Iowa is less than 50 days away.
Interesting that the debates are buried on Saturdays:
Interesting, very interesting.

12. And here is something further interesting

I just left this thread to read some others and found one posted about Bill Press and Rolan (?) Martin discussing this issue (on MSNBC no less). They were laughing and saying the timing of this was very interesting. (Can you believe that). But they also said it was done to stop Bernie Sanders momentum (the Big Mo) which had exploded this week. Both Press and Martin said this was like a gift to Bernie Sanders because the MSM and the DNC had spent so much time ignoring them, this conversation is exploding everywhere and Sanders if getting so much more publicity than he has ever had.

One of them asked the question if O'Malley could join the lawsuit because he has been being ignored as well.

Too funny.

Thanks for posting on my thread.

13. The absolute shock and awe for the Clinton campaign was when the DFA endorsed Bernie. They just

couldn't handle it. Hillary is so not Presidential material, she is in way over her head..

14. I believe you are correct

She is also not very subtle when she is trying to pull an end run or when answering a question, she equivocates. I just don't think she is a good politician at all, much less someone ready to be President.

I so hope Bernie prevails.

I am wondering tonight if O'Malley is checking out his database ....
