The president has the bully pulpit of the Oval Office to give him exposure to balance out the outside spending.
Folks like Brown don't have that luxury - and, as a result, voters are hearing more from Mandel and his handfull of gazillionaire donors.

When the vote is more-or-less evenly split in South Dakota--and it's starting to head that way--the deciders are the Indian tribes, whose members have a traditionally very low turnout except when it counts, and then GOTV efforts can double turnout on reservations.

It is a logistic problem for the tribes, at least as much as one of cynical lack of enthusiasm, as the reservations in SD are huge, with bad roads and very limited transportation options to the few polling centers. They may hate Republicans more than the rest of us here do, but they can't really afford to go out and vote unless Democrats dump inordinate expense into organizing a way for tribal members to get to the polls.

President Obama has approached Indian Affairs with a level of understanding far beyond that of all Republican Presidents and most Democratic ones as well, so his card trades high among tribal members these days. Giving some much-needed attention to SD would also be an excellent opportunity to create a logistic framework on reservations, which will pay off in the upcoming Senate elections there in 2014 and 2016.

their District in Eastern Oklahoma is listed as a tossup. It's the first in Native American history. The Red State may be threatened by the Red People, we hope they come out. It's called Lean Republican at present.

Dan Boren was often a DINO, but he's the only Democrat Oklahoma had. There is a choice and a chance to keep an unlilkely Democrat in Really Red Oklahoma with D-Rob Wallace. I think the Cherokee thumbs-up will help.

45-40. I don't like it. And R's campaign is calling NM a battleground. I've never worried about it being one, but I suppose it is.

I wonder what's going on there.

ugh.

and actually, you're wrong about the 53-38 anyway, that wasn't the result of the previous poll.

secondly, the current poll, but the Albuquerque Journal polled three candidates: Obama, Romney and Johnson.

the Rasmussen poll asked about Obama and Romney only.

what you're posting is wrong because you are saying is that the same kind of poll shows that 10 percent of Obama's lead just evaporated. that's not what these polls mean.

I don't lie. So keep your "thank you" to yourself.

What I posted, I pulled STRAIGHT off the electoral-vote site. As of August 21, he showed NM as being dark blue, with the percentages I posted showing, Rasmussen poll.

I don't follow all the different polls closely enough, nor am I mathematically inclined enough, to dissect and compare them the way others do.

And I'm not arguing, YOU are. I don't come here to argue, and I didn't start this thread to get my ass chomped by people who are poll junkies in a way I'm not. I come here for support and encouragement from like-minded people while I work to get President Obama re-elected.

at least we'd get the satisfaction of seeing RWers go off the wall once again, to have them realize that their plans of ruining his re-election chances failed.
