Chuck Todd says that Romney Campaign wishes they could take their Libya statement back

Romney's knee jerk reaction only gives emphasis to his inability to lead the country. BTW, Andrea Mitchell talks about what a "great blow" this is to the "Obama State Department." But she noticeably was silent on Chuck Todd's criticism on the Romney statement.

http://www.politico.com/playbook/0912/playbook1917.html?hp=l6

Here is what the Romney Campaign said last night:

"10:09 p.m., Mitt Romney “Statement On Developments In Libya and Egypt,” embargoed for midnight, putting it past 9/11: “I'm outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It's disgraceful that the Obama Administration's first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

"--10:25 p.m., Romney campaign emails reporters: “You can use this statement immediately, embargo(on not attacking the president during 911) is lifted.”

Here is what the President said:

"--12:09 a.m., Ben LaBolt, national press secretary at Obama for America, “Response to Governor Romney's statement: ‘We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Governor Romney would choose to launch a political attack.’”

"NBC'S CHUCK TODD on "Morning Joe," on Romney aides issuing the statement "before they knew for sure whether there were going to be protests that spread around the world. It seemed to be an irresponsible thing to do. ... I have a feeling they wish they had that moment back, that they wish they had that statement back. ... I understand where they feel like they are: They're chasing news cycles right now. And they feel as if they have to be involved in every news cycle, in every event if the president's involved, in order to look on equal footing. That was a bad mistake they made last night."

Another example of a Republican betting against America for political gain.

They got caught saying something patently stupid but on the other hand this gives Romney a chance to rile up the Christian Fundamentalists and also inflame pro-Israeli Jews. The neo-cons are driving this bus.

underlying cause, and the so-called media experts fail to recognize that

Our involvement in both Egypt and Lybia, has not made a pleasant time for those living there.

and to ignore history, and blame it on a single event, is both naive and irresponsible

However, it does let ignorant people in the U.S. remain ignorant

It plays into the idea of the Muslims being insane people who get enraged over movies and books or cartoons.

Romney's people, however, had him double down on it. He is UNFIT FOR OFFICE. Period.
