However, demanding apology usually makes one look defensive. I think if we let Romney flail and let the media take this one we can stay above the fray while still hurting Romney politically.

When you're opponent is self-destructing, DON'T get in the way. He has been left high and dry by even his own party. Obama could not have done any more harm than what Romney has done to himself IMHO.

there are those who might find romney's statements treasonous. While I was listening to him speak, just the tone of his voice, I got the feeling the enemy was speaking - contradicting the president. Clearly disrespecting him. I swear the man will start the next world war if somebody doesn't shut him up.

I wouldn't even expect this from George W. Bush and I thought that he was a rank amateur when it came to foreign policy. I also have to commend Congressional Republicans (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little) for refusing to support Romney/Preibus on this. Obviously, this even was a bridge too far for even them to cross (and that is saying A LOT coming from them).

Calling for him to apologize gives him power with his base.

Calling him irrelevant diminishes his status.

Brush him off. Dismiss his input as "amateur"

write to your local publications, of any size...and complain. Keep it plain and basic.

I wrote this AM to the Los Angeles Times and the Daily Breeze papers.

...even got a call back from one of them, as considering publishing my letter.

It was more of a note...and I simply said his press conf. and statements are a disgrace.
