Are Americans patriotic when they keep their money in the Cayman Islands or other foreign banks?

Are Americans patriotic when they hide their money in foreign banks?

Are Americans patriotic when they avoid taxes so those beneath them have to pay higher taxes?

I don't think it was legal to take a large amount of money out of the country. I remember my dad having a problem with taking a large amount out of the country for something he wanted to buy in another country. Even though he worked for an American company in a foreign country, his pay was deposited in a bank in New York and there was a limit he could take out of the country. Back then, the fifties, it was considered bad for the economy to take a huge amount of dollars out of circulation.
