What's the matter with Kansas? KANSAS GOES BIRTHER...

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/09/kansas_birther_kris_kobach.php?ref=fpa

"Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, an informal advisor to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, said on Thursday he and his fellow members of a state board were considering removing President Barack Obama from the Kansas ballot this November.

Kobach is part of the State Objections Board along with Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, all Republicans. The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that on Thursday the board agreed consider whether to take Obama off the ballot because they said they lacked sufficient evidence about his birth certificate.

“I don’t think it’s a frivolous objection,” Kobach said, according to the Capital-Journal. “I do think the factual record could be supplemented.”

The board is looking at a complaint filed by Joe Montgomery, of Manhattan, Kan., who claimed the Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen and so is ineligible to be president. The man appears to be part of a group of conspiracy theorists known as “birthers,” who deny Obama’s birth certificate is real."

No corporate income taxes. Income tax increase on the middle-class. Absolute Austerity.

$4.5 billion less in revenues. $2.5 billion budget shortfall by 2015-16.

It's supposed to:

Brownback has said the changes will stimulate the economy like an adrenaline shot to the heart. He said that the tax cuts will create 22,900 new jobs, give $2 billion more in disposable income to Kansans and increase population by 35,740, in addition to normal population growth.

he speaks for end-timer preacher Lou Engle, who is located in the Kansas City area, and has at least mentioned Civil War II over abortion and gay-marriage.

Gee, what a swell guy. He's only demanding that the President provides further proof of his citizenship.

the idea that they don't matter is abhorrent.

that they wouldn't *decide* the election is a valid point, but that shouldn't foreclose on their right to participate.

secondly, their votes may be the votes that give Obama a majority or plurality of the popular vote, but if he's not on the ballot, they cannot.

Still, Obama will win PA with or without my vote, but I'm still voting. They can remove his name in Kansas, but you can always write him in.

"doesn't matter" was a poor choice of words because it is often used by those who don't intend to vote. I've never missed a primary election since I've been old enough to vote. I have missed a few primaries, but mostly because the candidates were either unopposed or didn't have a serious challenger. I certainly didn't intend to imply apathy toward voting. I favor Australia's approach where it's illegal NOT to vote.
