(4,532 posts)The primaries haven't even started yet. Let's all just hope this will be the year a Democrat gets elected to move the country forward.
Would you rather all HC posts go into the HC Group and leave the rest of the forum for SBS?

(15,438 posts)honest about it.
Irony is, Sanders isn't even a Democrat and this is the Democratic Underground. But they're hoping to turn into the Bernie Underground. Not happening.
Vote for me because I am going to win.
What a lame way to run for office.
My substantive suggestion based on vast experience in life at age 62: Brag Afterwards. Bragging ahead of time often winds up in humiliation. And it always sends the opposite message as intended -- instead of confidence it actually betrays insecurity.
And, generally speaking, braggarts are jerks.
Eventually, they will count the votes and we all know who won. So far your candidate has won exactly the same number of votes as Governor O'Malley and Senator Sanders. Its a nil - nil - nil tie at this point.
Happy new year. We'll all be on the same side in the fall. One way or the other.

(687 posts)I am very happy that the Hillary supporters keep pushing this stupid line of inevitability. It helps my side.
As to your rhetorical question -- no I would not regard that equally stupid pitch as less lame.
How about vote for me because I have better ideas than my opponent and I am politically skilled enough to implement those ideas. Something along those lines, instead of the utterly preposterous "appeal" of this thread, which is just a sweetened up version of "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."
Like I said, keep 'em coming. It's a hoot to see the canned "argument" being repeated so many different ways.

(4,007 posts)Bernie has a lot of catching up in a short amount of time.
I am happy that this intelligent, very well informed Democrat very likely be the nominee

(1,309 posts)I prefer Bernie, but I would certainly prefer Martin over Hillary. I also admit I posted several times asking Martin to drop out when it has become clear his popularity remains in single digits and may even be decreasing. I did this after being convinced his candidacy like that of the republicans was reducing coverage of Bernie's positions versus Hillary's exactly the same thing main stream media has been engaged in in their trumped up, for show red herring war by two supporters of the oligarchy, Hillary and Trump. I do not blame Martin but his overall impact I felt was helping Clinton.
So again I am asking Martin's supporters to make a wiser decision , and do the most good for the American people they can by recognizing the fatal damage this failure to get on Ohio's ballot does to his winning the nomination and more specifically how a candidate who has lost any chance of getting any of Ohio's 16 electoral college votes in the general election. His light was not shinning bright before this problem. This will continue to dim as the probable consequences of this will be called out as a failure of leadership on his part far eclipsing the fervor exhibited by Hillary fans regarding stealing of data by Bernie staffers but may be willfully ignored by Hillary as she may want to keep him sucking up debate time from Bernie. But in any case the people will see it for what it is, the light through the windows is growing darker, it is time to quit working in semidarkness, turn off the lights and call it a day. Come back to fight another day with a better campaign strategy and staff. Continuing further is a betrayal of the efforts of the supporters he has. No leader should engage his followers in battles he knows they and he cannot win, speeches and motivational appeals to the contrary. He blew it, time to fess up and go home after he apologizes to those who worked so hard for him. That is the high road, he should take it.

And my 69 1/2 years has shown me the power of positive thinking. So I'll keep thinking positively, thank you
And as far as Bernie folks thinking positive, if they were there wouldn't be the need for 24/7 Hillary bashing.

We cannot elect leaders that give no forethought when they speak of regime change and the millions of people that are affected.

(11,572 posts)...will be appropriate. We use Mr. or Sir for males in high offices and Madame for women. To refer to her as Mrs. or Ms. traditionally relates to her married status (though Ms. basically means unstated marital status) which would not do for her as POTUS. She was Madame Secretary and then there is Mr. Secretary (John Kerry). Mr. in front of any male does not refer to married status.
