I admit that I fell for the e-mails that warned that Sanders could out raise her and gave a good size donation yesterday

6. How does the primary/general thing work with fundraising?

I'd imagine, any money left over from the primaries can be used for the general, assuming she wins the nomination.

But if that happens, does that restrict the amount that people who donated during the primary can donate in the general? For example, say I maxed out at $2700 for the primary. Hillary has some cash left over, so she uses that for the general. If some of that cash came from my $2700, does that mean I can't give the full $2700 again in the general? Does Hillary get to decide whose money she's rolling over to the general and whose money she's spending in the primary race, or does it all get averaged somehow?

unless she has no choice the primary money that is left will be money that came from non maxed out donors.
