Related: About this forumFirms Paid Bill Clinton Millions As They Lobbied Hillary Clinton
Bill Clinton accepted a total of $2.5 million in speaking fees from companies lobbying the State Department under Hillary Clinton. These fees were paid directly to him, not to the Clinton Foundation. Conflict-of-interest? You decide.

"The dynamic is insidious and endemic to this system, said Meredith McGhee, policy director of the Campaign Legal Center, a campaign finance watchdog group in Washington. "The fact is that the wealthiest .01 percent on the outside of government believes -- fervently -- that by paying speaking fees, or making campaign contributions, that it can gain access and influence."
Rules Do Not Apply
Federal ethics rules aim to discourage officials and their spouses from accepting gifts from interests seeking official action from a government agency. But the rules do not apply to speaking fees, said Craig Holman an advocate for tightened ethics structures at Public Citizen, a watchdog group in Washington" so 'the dynamic through which President Clinton has been able to profit from the same companies eager to gain the ear of his wifes department poses a very troubling conflict-of-interest situation that is going to continue to dog Hillary over the course of the campaign."'
This will be the order of business in the White House unless Bernie Sanders becomes President.

There probably isn't anyone cleaner in politics than the Clinton's.

Clinton Inc. would be keelhauled in the General IF and I UNDERLINE IF she is the nominee! Take THAT 2 Da BANK!
Clearly Berneard is the Safe Choice for establishment types who fear Cruz/Trump while for the 99% he offers SOLID Crossover support as compared to the inspiration that Clinto provides to the opposition to come out in droves to vote AGAINSTT her... and Bill ...

Shirts. Pants. That's what is in Sen. Sanders' closet. HRC unethical? Yes. From sniper fire to wiping it with a cloth to weapons sales and Foundation donations. Dirty. Untrustable. Void of integrity.

(41,600 posts)Not only are the Clinton's reviled by Republicans - with a visceral, burning hatred, but they will stop at nothing to prevent another Clinton from being President. That's just a fact.

(27,848 posts)Were the speaking fees not paid? Or not at the times listed? Or to their foundation rather than personally? Or the corporations weren't actually lobbying State at the time?

Another smear from a Rupert Murdoch publication by a low post count poster. Also needs MIRT's attention.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Jan 7, 2016, 01:13 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Nothing wrong with the post, except perhaps it offends the sensibilities of ardent Hillary fans who would rather we not know the truth about her and her husband. Leave it.
I'm really sick of their swarming posts that reflect poorly, but accurately, on their chosen candidate.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The accusation missing from the alert is that the claim is untrue. I "get" that the user is new, but I'm unwilling to censor news that Clinton certainly will need to deal with just because a Clinton supporter is uncomfortable seeing it.

(20,226 posts)then you click on "properties" at the very bottom. Then on the thingy that comes up you go to address and highlight it and then copy. Then you go to the place on the OP or reply where you want the photo to appear - you right click again and click on "paste"

(232 posts)That's for PCs, right? I have an iPad4. No right click here, unfortunately.

(26,812 posts)Some web managers frown on hot linking and could replace your image with a warning or, worse, a dirty picture.
Open a free photobucket account> save image to iPad > upload image to photobucket > paste photobucket link to du.
It uses PB's bandwidth and not the web site's.
Plus you now have a place to store photos. I have my phone set to auto upload.
