Whoa... Pelosi voices confidence in Wasserman Schultz - TheHill

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday expressed confidence in the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, who is facing calls from some progressive groups to resign.

“Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a very valued member of the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said, dismissing new concerns about the Florida lawmaker.

“She has all the stamina and enthusiasm for the job that she has, and I believe she has the confidence of the president and will of the nominee of our party, and that's where our decisions are made,” said Pelosi, who has held numerous fundraisers with the DNC chairwoman.

Liberal grassroots groups CREDO and Roots Action have targeted Wasserman Schultz for saying that women in their 20s and 30s have become complacent about abortion rights.

They'd be slitting their own throats politically by opposing her now if she becomes President later. When you are a career politician, you do what you must to preserve your career.

Simple question: How many politicians in Congress stand up for principle vs. doing what is politically expedient?

There is a reason that Bush enjoyed a near perfect record of Republicans in Congress voting the party line. Retribution.

They know Hillary keeps score - spreadsheet and all.

under the bus along with all the other good Dems who have not called for DWS to go. I'm probably there too for not screeching hysterically for DWS's head. But I have LOTS of very good company under that bus and, judging from the appalling rhetoric of some of the screechers (I wonder if the screeching would be even half as loud if DWS were a male), I am very happy to be there.

Stand tough, Nancy! The screechers are loud, but volume does not mean that they are right.

go after GWB, to see that he and his crew are impeached and prosecuted, to not let up.

She hemmed and hawed, said these things are "very complicated," said we all have to continue to work together, and so on and so on. We'd all been drinking a bit, it was a social event but in the House chamber by then. I realized at that point that she's a middle-of-the-road politician, and while not psychotic or evil she just lives in the Beltway and that's that.

Five years later I had another visit with her when I was running for office; asked her for some support in my race, but of course already knew the answer.

Hillary's in that same club. You and I are not.
