(436 posts)The trend is what matters.
I was hoping for another +6 Warren poll like in the Western NE University poll earlier today, but a +7 swing in PPP is still good news!

There were 56 undecideds on our Massachusetts Senate poll. 43 of them are Obama voters and 1- yes 1- is a Romney voter

(538 posts)No surprise.
But let's not get overconfident.
Some of this could be a Convention bounce that could narrow again over the next month.
Elizabeth will still want to perform well against Brown in the debates and maybe have Obama and/or Bill Clinton take a swing by MA during the remainder of the campaign.
Rove, Wall Street & the GOP really want to keep Brown's seat. I wouldn't be surprised if they try something else now that Elizabeth is inching ahead. Reports say this is THE most expensive Senate race in the whole country. There's a reason for that. Wall Street wants to keep their boy in the Senate.

(4,551 posts)Hopefully it will continue to rise.
They've still got an old Boston Globe poll in there from back in May showing a Brown lead. Hopefully that one will disappear soon too.

(14,559 posts)It should be at least a dead heat, I just have been flumoxed how Brown had a good margin to this point.
We MIGHT be seeing this election shifting in a pretty clear overall manner in a blue direction.
TroyD
(4,551 posts)That's one reason why. He's well over 50% approval in the polls.
I don't understand why, but that's because I don't like him. Apparently in MA he has been good at pretending to be a moderate & independent up until now.
Cosmocat
(14,559 posts)I do see why they like him - he has the looks, and comes across as moderate. I get that.
However, I think Warren has A LOT of populist appeal, and Mass is normally such a strong D state.
I guess that she was not stronger has been my surprise.
But, I guess, as a first time candidate, she has to build it up.
TroyD
(4,551 posts)The fact that she is competitive with (and hopefully now moving ahead of) an incumbent Senator with +50% approval ratings is a big accomplishment.
Many people might not be able to do that. Plus he is being given millions of dollars by Rove & Wall Street.

(331 posts)Such good news! She is wonderful and it would be so nice to watch her. She showed at the D.N.C. what a remarkable leader she can be.
