Bill's on the campaign trail so questions will be asked. You can't separate a former former president from his actions. Hubris is hubris and they define that.

whenever Bill's misdeeds were referred to while the impeachment crisis was going on.

That includes strong Democratic supporters and peoplewere were defending him in public during the impeachment.

The standard line of defends went something like "I certainly don't condone the President's behavior, which was reckless and irresponsible but...." or some variation of that.
