Could this be a setup to energize the base?

Thinking about it, could this controversy be a stupid attempt to energize the wing nut base? Talk about dividing Americans ... oh wait, romney has been accusing Obama of that.

7. They certainly hope so. But I would argue that some will just dismiss this moment of truth....

because they don't know that they are part of that 47% that Mitt displays such contempt for. I haven't seen a lot of Romney yard signs or bumperstickers, but when I have they were stuck in the yards of working class white folks, in poorer sections of town, who are convinced that Obama is taking something away from them to give it to someone they feel is undeserving.

If the media takes this to its logical conclusion, it should be enough for Mitt to have to address the nation to clear this up. That hastily convened press conference he did tonight, just shouldn't cut it. There are still lots of questions to be answered. I remember when Pres. Obama had to answer some really tough questions, and each time he did it with grace and clarity.

You're supposed to get the base in the primaries and go for the center in the general. He's just staying hard right and the base still hates him.
