I have no idea what "herding" meant either but I assume it is some sort of explanation for the crashing poll numbers.

But a bigger problem is that pollsters may be using questionable means to ensure that their results end up in a certain place. Any poll is required to make judgments about exactly how to weight the sample or decide who is likely to vote. But such choices can swing the results by several percentage points, and these decisions can be made with the results in mind. Most pollsters issue only broad methodological statements — generally leaving them the flexibility to subtly adjust their approach and results from poll to poll, if they so choose.

In particular, there is reason to think that pollsters engage in a behavior known as herding, in which they announce results that are similar to those of other recent polls. Why would they do this? In part, because it’s safer; they fear being wrong. Pollsters are judged by their results, and in an era of close elections, expectations of accuracy are high.

More here.

Trouble for them is Bernie has become inoculated from all the prior smears. We all know what they're up to and it's not working.

are...failed capitalism. It's common to have a severance package for the executives. And, despite everything, it was for the specific Democratic value of helping people make their lives better. For shame.

Now we know that Bernie has an affection for a Capitalist wannabe. Maybe there is another layer underneath that scruffy crumdegeon ... more toward the Democratic than just the Socialist.

because they want the question "Can he win?" answered first. Should Sanders actually win in IA and NH, it will affect his SC and NV numbers dramatically.
