(115,096 posts)People like this -- thoughtful, compassionate people -- are the future. I have to resist the temptation to waste much time and energy arguing with those whom history is currently in the process of leaving behind.

(21,046 posts)And the larger point, beyond just the exploitation of humans, is that you must be careful about what media you consume. What kind of TV do you watch, or movies? What kind of music do you listen to?
Angry, violent, dehumanizing, negative media, or positive, nurturing media?
I listen to classical and jazz a lot. I don't watch movies or TV devoid of positive human interaction. I don't watch violent or scary movies or TV. I don't read magazines about "Which Celebrity is Screwing Which Celebrity". I don't watch competitive reality shows because they are cruel. I'm not saying you should watch unrealistic squeaky clean family shows where all problems are solved in 22 minutes.
I could go on. Most people don't think about what the TV or the culture feeds them. And maybe they wonder why they're angry or depressed.
