he seems to agree that in the UK and Australia, it's ok because culture. (Same nonsensical excuse used by those who used to fight to defend using 'gay' and 'retarded' as insults.)

Seeing offensive words written out by those who are discussing why they are offensive does not bother me as much as those who fight to maintain their social acceptability.

I thought it was more of a general accusation as it usually is.

Just so you know, this kind of post is frowned upon. This is not what groups are intended for.

I got a hide for daring to refer to Steven leser's campaign to get me PPRd for saying that MRA talking points were posted on DU. Bogus hide (of course). Still worth it.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

She's calling out two DUers and doubling down on her hidden post. She even admits that this is not what groups are for, yet she does it. Repeating hidden posts should be hidden, as should these call-outs, which aren't true btw. She provides no links to back up her accusations - because she can't.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri May 16, 2014, 09:49 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I disagree about what alerter is trying to read (the mind of the author) into this post. My take is that she is simply saying that the groups are not intended to organize attacks against other DUers.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Tough.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Just leave the HoF group alone if they bother you, ffs, alerter.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Not how I interpret her post. So, I don't see a reason to hide it.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

The alerter is right that I can't post links to show steven's little campaign, because he pulled that shit in meta.

Oh and alerter - its the 'rally the troops' type posts that are a no no... not discussing posts elsewhere ... hope that helps!

It's purpose was to find find humor in the use of a gender slur, e.g Use of the word "cunt" for laughs.

Hint: It's easy to remain non-outraged when the target of the slur is not you or your body.

to ensure that these oppressive misogynist slurs do not become socially unacceptable, as happened to 'gay' and 'retarded'.

They also go into fits of hyperbole if anyone tries to tell them that 'bitch' is an oppressive, bigoted slur.

It's pathological. It really is.

Some are actually reaching back to the seventies and eighties to reference the regional, little used 'bitchin'"

Before you belabor yourself again, you should note

as a negative, demeaning synonym for "woman".
