Man charged with sexual assault misses sentencing hearing

FAIRMONT — A Fairmont man will be sentenced once he is in custody.

Martin Brooks, 24, of Fairmont, was arrested March 15, 2012, and charged with sexual assault in the third degree. Brooks was indicted on four counts of sexual assault in the third degree.

On Tuesday, Brooks was not present for a sentencing hearing. The case was continued by Marion County Circuit Judge David Janes until Brooks is in custody.

According to Janes, Brooks’ bond was revoked during a Sept. 22 bond hearing, which Brooks also did not attend....

By the way, the victim in this case is 14 years old.

Sexual assault is never taken seriously and too often these assholes get out on bond, free to terrorize their victims. The victim in this case was a child. This jerk's ass should have been in a cell awaiting sentencing. Now the court doesn't even know where he is. Such good news for the victim and her family not to mention other women out there. I'm sick of this shit!
