It was here a couple of days ago, today it's gone. Was it lost in the recovery from yesterday's website overload? My Bookmarks are still there, though.

(112,144 posts)I see it at the bottom of your thread. We were still at level 1 earlier today.

(11,945 posts)I was wanting to bookmark a particularly good comment. Of course, one can save the permalink, but the Bookmark feature is so handy.
Well phooey. I wish it were available at the comment level.

(8,543 posts)Take the permalink address...
[div class="greatest-toggle" style="margin-top:0px; text-align:left;"]
http://demu.gr/?com=view_post&forum=1256&pid=10567[div class="about" style="font-size:1em;"] http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1256&pid=10567
... and turn it into a thread view address by removing everything but the numbers after the last forward-slash...
[div class="greatest-toggle" style="margin-top:0px; text-align:left;"] http://demu.gr/125610567[div class="about" style="font-size:1em;"] http://www.democraticunderground.com/125610567
... that page will show a bookmark button.
Sometimes the comment itself when recalled doesn't have enough information for me to remember the context. In those cases, I turn the bookmarked URL back into the permalink format by adding ?com=view_post&forum= after the last forward-slash and then &pid= after the first four numbers. (I just open a post in permalink mode to copy that text.) To give me this again:
[div class="greatest-toggle" style="margin-top:0px; text-align:left;"] http://demu.gr/?com=view_post&forum=1256&pid=10567[div class="about" style="font-size:1em;"] http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1256&pid=10567
Fairly easy for desktop users, but might be a little bit too much effort on some mobile devices.
I am impressed. You really know how to focus -- above and beyond the call of duty.
