I have the same problem and when it happens I have to send out for a new password every time....

That's how the login credentials are stored that allow you to stay logged in.

you will have to log back in.

If it's set to delete cookies when you close the browser, you'll have to log in when you return.
(No, I don't use IE. I just know the setting is available on other browsers)
