Hello fellow socialists/communists/anarchists -

my name is TBF and leftists are welcome here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1024

We support our president given reality and like to discuss how the world could be better.

For all new-comers my advice would be to find a few small groups you like to start out with. It is a great way to meet some folks and a little less intimidating than some of the big forums. That said, you'll find the latest news in the breaking news thread (and likely discussion about it in General Discussion).

I hope you like it here

ETA: Since everyone else is posting pics ... I am married with 4 kids (2 human, 2 furry):

my husband has dual citizenship here & UK (his mum was born in Slough and moved here after WWII).

I've only visited your country once but adored it - we visited London, Bath, Stoke on Trent (the Wedgwood factory), and Stratford upon Avon. And a lot of castles (with a lot of stairs!).

I hope you enjoy DU!

But, hey...

You do a really fine job on MIRT and one of these days we should all meet up.

year and sells some of the games. I'll look into it.

There are so many Houston area DUers that I think it would be awesome to have a cookout or something sometime.

until I met some on DU! I live in the suburbs where the soccer moms pack heat (not kidding) but that would be fantastic to have a meet-up!

You are a mensch and a great DUer. I second the suggestion on Groups. GD can seem like Thunderdome to a newb. I lurked for about two years before actually getting the nerve to post.

Another on-line friend that I need to meet in person one day - leftist females are few and far between.

And I definitely agree about the GD forum - I started posting in early 2008 during the Primary. Those were scary times

One of these days I have to buy a scanner and show old pictures of my pony from years ago.

And I wanted to be sure other socialist types could find our little corner!
