Not allowing French spelling in the thread title?

I tried to put a new post about the French presidential debate. The French spelling is débat with the emphasis (or whatever the term in) on the e.

While I managed to put it in the body of the post, not on the title. It kept listed is as Dbat. I finally left it.

Accented characters get the axe.
