The name should be self-explanatory. Trying to live blue in a disgustingly red state.
This place helps me keep my sanity, and know that there are an awful lot of caring, intelligent liberals out there who will fight like hell to keep this country free and strong.

(135,060 posts)There seems to be quite of few of us blue folk in red states here at DU. We need a place to vent, I suppose.

I get it now though... Looks like you've been around since 2001... rather than Welcome to DU, I'll go with "Nice to meet you!"
I live in a red state, too (Florida), though I live in the South East (Palm Beach County) which is really quite blue. We still have to deal with Skeletor for our governor, though.

(13,868 posts)FL is purple; SC is blue. You are the 2nd person to see my screen name as 'scanty.' The other person told me it gave them an image of Rush Limbaugh in a speedo and they were going to have to go kill themselves.
And we do boast one top Dem in SC: minority whip Cong James Clyburn.

(13,868 posts)I meant to say SC was red obviously, not blue. I still can't get over the election of Santos on West Wing when SC went early for the Democrats. We have captured NC, and Georgia may be next, but I'm afraid the ghost of Ole Strom is still strong here.
Hopr you guys can deliver the Sunshine State for the Dems this year.
