My old pc's poor mother(board) died and the pc guy told me it was going to be hard and expensive to find a replacement. So we both suggested to me a used pc which he sells all the time. Cost me $139 & tax, and he put my old tower in the window for somebody else to buy cheap & build up.

I got it 3 weeks ago and just yesterday had the fading problem. He told me to bring it in (still under warranty) and I see where he went to this website: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/ServiceTag/BRKQQ91

I know he replaced at least one driver and I got the thing back again today.

Since I'm 74, I see no sense in spending a lot on a computer that won't last longer than me. If I get 2-3 years out of this and have to get another one for $100 or so, it should do me fine till I get put in an urn (not to mention 12/21 and the Aztecs ) . This 17" monitor I'm using is a Dell and cost $25 - 3 years now...

Thank you and REP for trying to help. I appreciate it.

So you may need significantly more than 2 - 3 years. Well, I hope so at least.

because he is the one who builds our puters and keeps them running.
Have NO clue what to do if mine should die and he was not here. Tis a thought that sends chills down my back.
We are miles and miles from any puter repair places.
