I knew eventually I'd have to make the move from lurking to actually posting on DU. This year the scales finally tipped in favor of posting. Little did you know you've been a lifeline of sanity for me for years. This can be a very weird country and although there are a variety of perspectives represented here, the arc of thought bends towards rationality and truthiness. Some days that can be quite a contrast to the rest of the world.

I'm a Midwestern domestic goddess who has had several mental gears stripped from the corporate world's version of "shock and awe." Happy to be happy now as a homemaker and almost-urban homesteader. I'm looking forward to my unpaid internship here as a generally opinionated know-it-all bossypants.
