DU is not just for Americans!

I'm one of many international DUers who are interested in American political discussion. Decisions and policies made in the US affect citizens around the world, and an "outside of the borders" perspective can often be a valuable addition to a discussion.

If I had one bit of advice for Newbie DUers, it would be to lurk before you leap. Take some time to explore the site and read the Statements of Purpose for the various Forums. There's something here for everyone, but there can also be minefields for those who rush in like the proverbial bull in a china shop. Get a feel for the place and ease into it, and your DU experience will be amazingly enjoyable.

She is spending a week helping her step mom clean out a house near Sidney. Wish I were there with her, but somebody needs to water the garden (and dogs and cats!)
