Today is not a good day for my anxiety.

I started the day with the worst anxiety I've had in a while (I don't think I need to go into the cause), and it's slipping into depression. Even the meds are not helping. What do you do on those days?

It quiets my mind to have something to touch, see, and figure out all at the same time while there is soft music to listen to in the background.

I find what helps me is to help someone else, in whatever way I can.

If I'm grocery shopping, and there's a crush of people w/carts in an aisle, I make a joke by saying "the aisles are never big enough, are they?" and everyone laughs and the crush moves on.

Or I help someone reach a higher shelf........or...well, you get the idea.

By helping them, I help me.

of it, so I got an accomplishment done (two actually), and actually picked up a few things around my electronics area at home. And it saved me money too! A bonus. Keep yourself busy, and do something out of this world, like fixing something or the like.

Best wishes to you.

I love working with clay because I can pound it to a pulp and then create something unique or original. I’m too out of shape now to do what I used to do and take a run, fast, like the devil was after me.

But creating, that’s something I can do and it makes me feel good.

Hope you feel better and less anxious soon.

During an episode (I call them Freak-outs, but they're internal), I have a supply of larger wintergreen Life Savers on hand. Put one in and follow the raised letters around the mint with the tip of your tongue until the mint is smooth.

It distracts you from the outer sources of the anxiety.

Good luck, Randy.

Farm Machinery on YouTube, especially the homemade and oddball. Many leverage horrible drudgery into better "sort & pack" jobs, within a couple minutes of harvest.
.My favourite part? Republicans know it works, but put themselves in bankruptcy anyway.

for a while.

There is a whole world out there that isn't all wrapped up tight in politics.

Good luck.

And question whether I’ve missed some days of taking vit D - has been a culprit compounded with personal life stress in past years.

Currently, I’m recognizing I’ll need some new strategies to manage. For instance, I will try to stay out of the rancorous primaries forum. I think this week is the most I’ve posted in there, and am spent. Has been an extraordinarily difficult span of primary days.

Likely will journal to try to gain more perspective in order to slow down the barrage of negativity and problems. This will take a CBT type format of pulling apart worst case scenarios to see what I really need to do at my personal level to take on certain challenges. Should help some.

I’ll continue not drinking alcohol for at least a couple more months. Has given me a little more space and energy to not feel so intensely low in response to harsh news.

I have to keep sights on my anxiety and depression, too. Is helpful to me to relate my methods to you - have a little more desire to get to that journaling as I type this.

Judi Lynn said take a walk in nature.I’m assuming trying to find a lemur to walk with would only add to your stress.
If you’re in San Francisco, you are within an hour of some of the Most awesome places on earth.
In the meantime I would like to thank you. I don’t know where you get all your information but it seems like you keep up with nearly every contest in the country. A lot of us are more informed because you’ve been here.

Write about your anxiety. What does it feel like? What are you anxious about? What would make things better?

Questions like that, and your answers.
