Florida, to its credit, does have cap laws (child access prevention), which would/could prosecute negligible adults for leaving firearms exposed around kids, though generally enforced when an actual incident occurs with a child & gun, etcetra.
I doubt we'll hear much presidential tweeting about how bad & sad the situation in florida has become, since the dangling dick state voted for its personification currently dangling from the white house.

Chicago is the city getting a bum rap, especially from the con artist in chief - Chicago Bad. Sad - he tweets. Send in the feds he says, tho how he will do it without federalizing the national guards I dunno (hwbush did this during LA riots), since the fbi & batfe are already engaged there.
Trump isn't so much, imo, concerned about the spike in murder rates in chicago, than he is with bashing a liberal city, the capital of american socialism, with a democrat base, in a state which voted against him. Trump's anal retentive revenge.
Duh trump, why don't you mention that chicago enabled handguns be legal in 2011 after mcdonald scotus decision, and since then the murder rate has risen 50%? and shootings rising as well? How about doing something with handguns in chicago?

1 the president was referring to in a tweet he sent out Tuesday evening saying he "will send in the Feds!" if Chicago "doesn't fix the horrible 'carnage' going on."
2 As in many major American cities, the federal govt is already deeply involved in Chicago's approach to fighting violent crime. The FBI has, among other units, a cold-case homicide squad, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives investigates "violent offenders, career criminals, gun traffickers and gangs" in the city. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/01/25/511582874/trump-threatens-to-send-in-the-feds-over-chicago-s-violent-crime

I doubt this is what humpty trumpty had in mind: {chicago}Mayor Rahm Emanuel said "there's a lot the federal government can do" to combat violent crime in the city. He cited the need for federal gun control legislation and asked for federal funding for additional police officers.
Right, trump gonna send much money to chicago.

Now, it might sound like I argue against myself, but my above was meant to show the negative contributing impact of lifting chicago's handgun ban in 2011, and the absence of criticism for where the rise in gun murder in good part belongs - more guns more crime. But Chicago isn't really as bad as trump & the gunnutted crowd make it sound. There are several pro gun cities which have higher total crime rates, violent crime rates, &/or murder rates than chicago, but does trump tweet how bad & sad pro gun memphis, houston, st louis and north charleston are?:

"Chicago's homicide rate is not among the nation's highest — but the number of deaths last year {2016}, 762, was the worst the city had seen in years
Chicago's city-wide per capita murder rate is well below that of other cities, including St. Louis and Baltimore,

Trump needs also get his head out his a** about citing fake statistics ala fake news, that the national violent crime rate is the highest its been in 30 years, when it's near the lowest.

PS: Arg, you put me in a difficult position, how hard it is to 'recommend' a post citing only a rise in violent crime & murder against kids. How I can 'recommend' such awful stats is the rub, eh? Nothing personal of course.
