In an earlier thread about plastic guns becoming legal the gun cited the recent

settlement of a lawsuit between the Dept. of State and Cody Wilson over his 3D printable plastic gun, 'the liberator'. What some of the respondents to that thread ( https://www.democraticunderground.com/10142114364 ) don't realize is that this isn't about a one-shot gun that might explode if printed with the wrong material. This settlement opens the door to unfettered manufacture of any kind of full metal semi-automatic rifle or pistol that cannot be traced.

For $1200 you can buy a CNC milling machine and build your own guns with software downloaded from the net. Programming for AR15s, AK47s, .45 1911 pistols and a number of 9mm pistols is available. The machine makes the only part of a gun that the ATF regulates, the lower receiver, from a solid block of aluminum. All the other parts can be purchased over the net without a background check and are completely unregulated. https://www.wired.com/2014/10/cody-wilson-ghost-gunner/

It is completely legal to make guns in your home for your own use without a license. It is not legal to sell or gift these guns without assigning a serial number and registering with the ATF. The gunners will tell you that this isn't a problem, that hobbyists aren't the problem and nobody has been harmed with one of these guns. Besides, it's not a gun issue, it's a freedom of speech issue.

Pardon me but BULL SHIT.

So now not only are corporations people and money speech it seems that guns are speech too.

If I have to get a permit to launch a protest why don't gunners need a permit to buy the parts to make deadly weapons?

WTF is wrong with this country?
