The father of a California mass shooting victim led a demonstration against gun violence in downtown Des Moines on Tuesday.

Richard Martinez helped deliver more than 5,000 postcards to the offices of Iowa congressmen demanding legislation to strengthen gun regulations and improve gun-safety education.

Following the Isla Vista shootings, Martinez said he would ask people to send postcards "to every politician they can think of" with the words "Not one more." That led to a campaign from the advocacy groups, and resulted in 625,000 people across the country signing up to have the cards delivered to their representatives.

More than 3,600 postcards will be delivered to Grassley's office; 939 will be delivered to Latham and 531 to King. The crowd of about 25 delivered the Des Moines postcards in a red Radio Flyer wagon.
