Lost wallet returned ó with a nice addition

Wes Monroe, an Iowa State University student, left his wallet on top of his car after stopping for gas last September. The wallet fell off on a highway entrance ramp. There was no money or credit cards in it but there were photos and his driver's license. The wallet was found by a 41-year-old mother of four who mailed the wallet back to him with the following note:

"I found your wallet on the side of the road by Highway 30 in Ames. I know it is easy to get a new license but I thought you might like your wallet and the pictures inside of it," she wrote.

"I hope things are going well for you at ISU and you are all settled in. Study hard, but also have some fun & experience life!"

"I know itís not much, but itís always nice to have a little extra cash," she added, referring to the $10 bill she put in the wallet. "Enjoy a drink with a friend or put a drop of gas in your car."

Her act of kindness made Monroe's day. "It takes a special individual to go out and do something like that," he said.

1. These stories restore some of my

belief in the humanity of our culture. Some.

Oddly we were out to dinner with my husbands 91 year old Aunt just the other night. She is pretty darned good for that age but shrunken and very old looking. She had a man turn around in the grocery line and unload her groceries for her and when she went to pay he had already paid the bill for her. She is by no means lacking in funds but she was so thrilled by this. It made her day and most likely more than that.

Thanks for the story.

5. What a wonderful story. As the parent of a college student,

I would hope someone would do the same for my daughter! Thanks for sharing.
