Extreme Mustang Makeover is seeking youth and adult trainers in Idaho to participate in the 100-day wild horse training challenge. The purpose of the competition is to showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of these rugged horses that roam freely on public lands throughout the West, where they are protected by the BLM under federal law.

The BLM periodically removes excess animals from the range to ensure herd health and protect range land resources. Thousands of the removed animals are then made available each year to the public for adoption through the efforts of http://extrememustangmakeover.com/

years ago. They are both gone now, but Nevada (the mare) and Lucy (the burro) were great additions to the menagerie. Lucy thought she was a cow and always stayed with them.

Nevada was a little roman-nosed sorrel with a small star and white pasterns. I might have to try again.
