Michigan women, ages 90 and 84, to fly to all 48 contiguous states

Two Michigan women are embarking on a journey to fly to every state in the lower United States. The pilot is 90, and the co-pilot is 84 years young.

Growing up in Kalamazoo Mary Creason began flying as a young woman when her sister took off for the service to fly with the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots.

“She left Kalamazoo and said, ‘You can have the airplane, I don’t need it anymore,’” Mary said.

She’s logged a lot of hours over the years but has always had a goal in mind — to land in each of the lower 48 states and after checking with her children, she is finally on her way at the age of 90.
