Redditors answer cancer patient's plea for pizza

Two-year-old cancer patient Hazel Hammersley had more pizza than she could handle in her hospital room this weekend, thanks to the kindness of strangers who caught wind of her plea for pies on Reddit.

Young “Hazelnut," as she's known to friends and family, is currently in the midst of an 18-month-long treatment period at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. She was diagnosed with a high-risk, stage 3 neuroblastoma in April, at which point her parents started a blog called Our Little Hazelnut to document her journey.

To pass the time during treatment and help raise spirits around the cancer ward, Hazel’s mother Lauren has been getting creative in her daughter’s room.

Late last week, with the help of some family members, she decided to put a sign up on the window made entirely out of medical tape. It read “SEND PIZZA, RM 4112.”

what a sweet face she has!

are you, by any chance?

That is such a HUGE community that a lot of good initiates there, but there are a gazillion subreddits, so it's hard to find. I'm trying to curate the good -- like this story -- which takes place within the reddit community itself but haven't figured out a way to do that yet. LOL

Anyway, this is wonderful. Thanks for posting!
