The countries where Facebook censors the most content

Some of the countries on this list of countries censoring content are a bit surprising. For instance, I didn't expect to see Australia, France and the United Kingdom on it.

"As Facebook expands, countries are increasingly interested in making content on the social network disappear.

Censorship on Facebook increased 19% between the first six months of 2014 and the last six months of 2013, the company revealed on Tuesday. But censorship isn't distributed evenly; some countries are more trigger-happy than others when asking Facebook to remove content."

First, it doesn't mention China (or anywhere else that Facebook is completely blocked). I'm not sure which other countries have a complete block on Facebook other than China. I lived in China in 2011-2012 and had to use a proxy to be able to use Facebook.

Second, most of the censorship has to do with criticism of governments. There are other countries where libel laws are fairly strong (like here in South Korea) that content could be deemed damaging to the government.

Third, I think Facebook should send Chilling Effects every request for censorship. It should be public knowledge if a government is forcing the removal of information.
