Paul Newman made some great movies in the 1960's which many are some of my favorites such as:

20. Captain America

Just got caught up with Captain America 2 and 3. The Captain America movie that came out in the early 90's wasn't that bad, just didn't have the budget to make it great. I believe there were 1 or 2 in the late 70's (I think) where Cap rode a dirt bike and motorcycle helmet with red/white/blue colors,

21. It's interesting the different takes

I love superhero movies. I collected comics as a kid still do. The budget and the acting are critical to the success of the movie. Marvel definitely knows how to make great movies. The DC series has been disappointing. Such great characters but the directors have ruined some of them.

23. DC Just Can't Seem To Close The Deal

I think that the only DC inspired movie that I like is Batman with Micheal Keaton. What got me was one of the early scenes when Batman was holding the robber on the roof of the building and then let him drop. The following Batman movies were hard to watch. Sometimes comics do a better job in dramatic roles like Keaton did in Batman.

I love Michael Keaton as Batman. I hated Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice Batman vs. Superman. I did like Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as Joker. I still haven't watched Suicide Squad yet.

I agree Bale took Batman back to his roots and I enjoyed his take on Batman although Keaton is still my favorite.

I really like the direction Bale went with it. It was meaty and gritty. Keaton set a pretty amazing bar for the role though.

43. The Reb Brown Captain America's

Were the one from the 70s. He was technically the original Cap's son, which is why the super soldier serum worked on him. They're a guilty pleasure especially some of the special effects - my favorite being Cap escaping some bad guys by lifting his motorcycle and throwing it up into a parking lot that was 20 feet above where he was - the bike sailed up perfectly and landed on its tires and kickstand.

1. Harper Valley PTA - not much in the way of action, but it's not overly distracting if I put it on while I'm working on something
2. The Three Amigos - absurdist humor (you shot the invisible swordsman!) and sending up of traditional Mexican bandito movie tropes
3. A Night at the Opera - "Let there be music in the streets, drinking in the saloons, and necking in the parlor (to dignified musical conductor) Play, Don."
4. Jack Frost - Not the Michael Keaton movie or the horror movie, but a Russian-Finnish co-production from the 1960s about some of their folktales. It was riffed by Mystery Science Theater 3000, but the cinematography is first class, and the story so charming that I bought the DVD. I can watch either version.
5. Captain America: The Winter Soldier -I'm an avid Marvel movie fan so I could pop in anything after 2008's Iron Man and be happy with it, but the action and humor (Cap and Black Widow toss a baddie off a roof to intimidate him, knowing that he'll be caught by Falcon, and while waiting for them to appear, calmly discuss Widow's attempts to get Cap a date) was top-notch.
