is right here around us.

Stephen King's "It" tells the story of how the horrors of our childhood haunt us as adults and make us who and what we are.

There's some unnerving recognizable reality in "Get Out."

Box Office: Jordan Peele's 'Get Out' Is The Second-Biggest R-Rated Horror Movie Ever

Jordan Peele's Get Out has made $164.65 million after earning $441,000 on Thursday. That means, barring a massive downturn, today is the day when it passes the $165m mark at the domestic box office. Why does that matter? Well, aside from being a nice, round number, as soon as it passes the $165.092m domestic total of Hannibal, that Get Out is now the second-biggest R-rated horror movie ever in North America.

The $5 million-budgeted Blumhouse and QC Entertainment release has outgrossed every single R-rated horror/scary movie you can think of in North America save one. And no, it won't be passing the $232m domestic gross of The Exorcist, which includes reissues and the like.

Peele’s directorial debut has grossed $200 million internationally.

There’s no stopping Jordan Peele and the success of his debut film “Get Out.”

Over the weekend Peele’s directorial debut, “Get Out,” surpassed the $200 million worldwide box office mark. The film, which was released in February, has grossed $173.8 million domestically and $30.5 million internationally, according to Deadline.

Peele, who is the first black writer-director behind a $100 million debut feature, becomes one of six black directors with $200 million-grossing films, according to Black Film. That list includes F. Gary Gray, Tim Story, Keenan Ivory Wayans, John Singleton and Clark Johnson.
