Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumJust got home from seeing Bernie in Duluth MN. It was
absolutely great. The site holds 6000 in the seating area and the floor (big enough to hold a hockey game on) was at least 3/4 full. So way over 6000 attending. Keith Ellison introduced him and got a great welcome.
Because it was held at 2:00 in the afternoon it had a lot of students and older people attending. My own daughters and granddaughters were working.
I and the lady I went with are both older and at first we did not know if we could stand in lines etc. but we made it without crashing.
The crowd surprised me a bit as I did not think there would be that many. And talk about enthusiasm! Those on the floor had to stand during the whole thing.
All in all I loved it. I do hope someone has some good pics as my old phone would not need it when I needed it most.

(15,686 posts)line for 2 days to get in a concert, but there is absolutely no way that they will spend 5 minutes to vote after spending weeks and weeks on phone banks for Bernie.
Sure they won't , We believe you Hillary people, there is no way even 5% of the people will show up to vote.

(10,345 posts)The numbers in Greenboro, NC surprised me as well! 9000 showed up to a 5000 capacity coliseum!

Remember...he's just a fringe, unelectable, shiny object!
Go Bernie!

I lived in Minneapolis for too short a time in the early 80s. I loved it, loved the entire state.

(39,215 posts)one thing about the DECC is that the hallways allowed everyone to wait inside.
I saw Wisconsin plates parked there so it was not just MN. I am sure that there were people from all over NE MN and NW WI. A very good turnout. Bernie was excited about such a good crowd. And they were all enthusiastic. The Duluth News Tribune had some pics if anyone wants to put them here. I do not know how. Nor am I very good at following directions.

(11,945 posts)show up in numbers and throw good vibes his way. Keep his spirits up, make him feel good about the whole thing. As the Hillarians, and soon the Republicans, start in on him, he'll need to feel the love even more.
Glad you got to see him, jwirr!

(23,156 posts)I mean, you can dress for the cold, but it's not fun to just stand and wait when it's real cold.
But if Bernie can draw a large crowd, not just from local Duluth people, but from nearby states, in January, that says a lot. I wonder where Hillary's been holding her rallies lately? And what her crowds are like.

(39,215 posts)on the floor standing and they are surrounded on all sides with people in the bleachers (close to 6000).
The ones with the children would have been just after the speech.
