But jeeze, we need style that doesn't remind me of my grandma's old victrola.

Wish I had musical skill, I'd put it where my mouth is.

12. Actually as someone who has spent a lot of time with children, this is the kind of catchy tune

children love. Easy to learn, easy to sing along with and easy to clap along with. I have experimented with music with children as young as two years old to see what kind of music they would respond to before they are influenced by their environment, iow, what music is 'in' at the time.

Not scientific of course, just a few years of playing different kinds of music from Classical to hard rock, and every other kind of music.

Oddly enough nearly every year, the 3-5 year olds chose Beethoven's 5th Symphony for some reason.

Next favorites were folk songs that they would clap to and move to like 'this land is your land'

People have often said that the very young and the very old have a lot in common. In between we are very much influenced by our peers, which is the way it should be.

But just from my own experience, that song would appeal to the very young and to crowds who like to be able to sing along and clap to a simple beat.

So it may not be great music, but campaign songs generally are not intended to be.

I like it for what it is.

It's 100% personal taste. Jangly guitar and folksy singing doesn't get my political energy going. That's me, I grew up on punk and hip-hop with a solid dash of metal and hard rock.

I mean it's great, in a fitting context. It's just that this music actually sounds older than the candidate it's promoting!

4. I think Hillary Clinton or Martin O'Malley could come up with some sprightly tunes!

They could hire the best bands, the best help in the world. No problemo.
I'm sure they could win any battle of the bands.

On the other hand, you could say I'm sceptical.
