It Begins ...

The stakes are high, especially on the Democratic side. Front-runner Hillary Clinton is leading Bernie Sanders by a wide margin nationally, according to every available poll, but I don't truck much with national polls. It's the state-by-state polls that matter because circumstances change by the hour, and in Iowa, Clinton and Sanders are in a dead heat. Her campaign is visibly spooked because the situation is exacerbated by Sanders' lead in New Hampshire; unless the planet crashes into the sun, Sanders is going to win his neighbor state by about six million points.

Here is where the media come back into play, and why Iowa is a grave concern for Clinton: Super Tuesday, the day upon which the Clinton campaign depends, is not until a month from Monday, on March 1. If Sanders manages to run the table in the first two states - Iowa on Monday and New Hampshire next Tuesday - the "news" media will have to fill the next three weeks with content, and that content will consist of report after report on how the "inevitable" nominee isn't so inevitable after all. If that happens, it's hats over the windmill for Sanders. The snowstorm may be a factor, but I'm betting there are a lot of people gnawing their fingernails in Clinton's Iowa headquarters.

So many people who don't pay attention to politics are still asking who Bernie is. Then, when they hear him, it's a sort of awakening. Like - "hey.... This guy makes sense and you mean I don't have to vote for Clinton?". I think the thing that could do him in is people who say "well, she's going to win anyway so what's the point?".

most of us don't want a Republican in office. Once Bernie's victories become fodder for the M$M, his "name recognition" will increase.

really and truly think that Bernie Sanders has done something to WAKE UP so many people who want to get OFF the treadmill of DOUBT! Doubt about where this country is headed. So many of us KNOW it's been coming for a very long time, they know they've HAD to PUT UP with TPTB that have made PUPPETS of all too many citizens who have been on the Gerbil circle for WAY to long.

We want off, we want to feel that IF we turn out to vote that our vote will count. We WANT TO KNOW that we see some light ahead and that the STATUS QUO will end! This country can't survive when all of us who are on the bottom floor begins to crack and even more fall through. There comes a time when it will fall in like an avalanche and there's no longer anything to hang onto.

So, IT IS TIME that we plant enough seeds to grow again. It should be CLEAR by now that the GREEDY and POWERFUL no longer really care. I see people everywhere yearning for this, but when MSM is owned by the GREEDY and they only feed us what TPTB want us to hear, we listen to the LIES again and think it's TRUTH!

If we're to survive we need to have "some" of our leaders to have a "come to Jesus moment" and break away and HELP the country they're supposed to lead!

I could go on, the factions that are fighting here at DU between Hillary and Bernie and even O'Malley has never been more severe. It's so much more intense than I've ever seen before. BUT it's not only here... I see it everywhere! Even in the very Red county I live in.

NOW'S the time!

If Bernie does succeed in winning Iowa and New Hampshire, that will be a game changer for the reason Will Pitts cites. But if he loses Iowa and wins New Hampshire, what then? I think then it will be up for grabs. But what I am finding increasingly depressing is the argument on DU about which polls are accurate or important.

What happened to discussing issues? It seems that that has taken a back seat to polling discussions.
