Related: About this forumFollow up ethnicity poll for Bernie supporters . . . "Who we are" continued.
Per this poll, http://www.democraticunderground.com/1280124492
Several people asked about ethnicity in the earlier poll. I couldn't think of a way to cover gender, age and ethnicity in a single poll without a million choices, so this poll deals strictly with ethnicity.
BTW, I used the official categories from the US Dept of Transportation's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) regulations, so if any minority group is left out, I apologize in advance. Let me know if I omitted a group and I will correct.

(29,165 posts)My father's Haplogroup is H, mother's V. After we came out of Africa; Dad's gang headed up into central and northern Europe and messed around with Neanderthals (3% Neander DNA). Mom's hung around the northeast corner of the Mediterranean and at the end of the Ice Age moved out toward what is now Germany. After a few centuries, some of both went to the British Isles and Ireland.
Much later some got the itch to try the Western Hemisphere and here I am - white Yank.

(1,587 posts)It's from various tribes, and I was raised in the dominant "white" culture of America so I don't go around claiming any tribal connections (with such a mix, I likely won't qualify for membership status anyway).
And really, I have no idea what else is hanging around in my background. One of these days I want to have a test done to see what melting pot my ancestors gave me.
I'm glad you said ethnicity rather than race, because I consider all human beings to be one race.
